Ayse Gül Ulay was born in 1958 in Detroit, Michigan. Graduate of Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul in graphic design (BA), she holds a second degree (BFA) in illustration/painting from Art Center College of Design Pasadena, California. Ulay's work --ranging from editorials to childrens' books--is featured in publications in the US and in Turkey.

She has participated in group exhibitions in Silicon Gallery-Philadelphia, Siggraph-Los Angeles & Orlando, Seybold-San Francisco, Macworld Boston, Opts Art Gallery-San Francisco, Sleeth Gallery-West Virginia. She uses both digital and traditional media and works in the fields of art and graphic design. She is based in Istanbul and Los Angeles.
